.[Recent Knit].

Yes, you read it right. KNIT. Singular. Lately, all I have knitted is a brown hat with the word Drunk in a sort of cursive.. It's for my uncle. He requested it.. Pretty much at the beginning of the year and I am just getting to it. It didn't take very long to knit up and I used the Regular Guy Beanie with a cast on of 120 stitches. I'm hoping this will fit his head because the letters were a pain in my arse.

The Hat:

I haven't worked on Nyan lately but I'm sure you'd even be surprised on how far I've gotten. I wanted to get this thing done months ago.. I really have no excuses for it NOT to be done.. I think I just needed some sort of break from all the granny squares, honestly.. I still wouldn't mind finishing it this year, I have some more ideas on stuff I wanna do for people. One of which is another big project so I definitely don't want to start that until I finish Nyan.. So, maybe it could be a Christmas present for them next year. LOL. Oh geez..

The only other thing that I have done recently is a Yoda Hat for our friend Casey. Him and his wife are having a baby boy this December and they are nerds.

This Hat:

Which by the way is crochet and barely takes any time at all to whip up. I think I will be making this for our baby when he/she comes. 16 weeks today! :)

ANYWHO, I'm off to... actually work on Nyan I'm thinking. I gotta see what I aught to do with it next.

.[Ohhhh Myyyyy!].

Hello there!

I am sorry I have not kept this thing going for so long. I have been pretty busy.

Quick non-knit, non-crochet update --

1.) My grandfather (whom I live with and take care of) got himself a tumor in his bladder. Again. :( This is the.. Third time this has come back. We are doing Chemo, which is fun... Well, it's not as bad as I thought it would be for sure. I basically sit up there with him at the cancer treatment center and we watch movies while the medicine goes into his body through an IV. Somebody has to be up there to help him go to the bathroom if he needs to.

2.) My daughter.... Is a pill. She's a girl and she is definitely MY daughter. She is a non-stop record.. She should be the new energizer bunny because she keeps going and going and going.

3.) I am now on insulin to help treat my Type 2. There's a reason for it but it's a personal thing. I am still trying to get used to 4 shots a day and trying to carb count.

Now, for the knit and crochet updates --

1.) I have finished a granny square blanket for my mother's friend who had a baby boy last month.
2.) I have finished the dish cloths for Margaret for the DIY pledge thingy she responded to on Facebook. Now I just need to make something for Meghan. I am thinking TwinkieChan's Cupcake Scarf... I will crochet a cupcake and see how long it takes to knock one out. I technically have until the end of the year, but kinda wanted to get it done before it gets toooo cold since she lives in Colorado now.
3.) Nyan. Pure and Simple. That thing... iiisss... half done? I lost my written square count so I am attaching squares and crocheting more as I go. I have all of the rainbow done, the tail done, and most of the face. I have a little bit of the pop tart done as well.
4.) My friend Casey (manager at our local Gamestop) is having a baby in December! Congrats! And of course mooorreee stuff I gotta do! I decided to make the baby boy a Yoda Hat. He's a nerd, she's a nerd. Yoda hat is perfect! :) I also made one of those fleece blankets that you just make a fringe on the sides and poof, it's done!
5.) My uncle wants a hat. A brown one. A brown hat with the word 'Drunk' in italics.
6.) I want to make this adorable Stocking for my baby for Christmas this year.
7.) I want a scarf.

I have a feeling I am missing some stuff, but am just out of it now-a-days. Plus.... 200 Cigarettes is on and that movie is flipping awesome, so CHAO MY TWO SUBSCRIBERS!

.[Nyaaaaan! Update].

I don't have all of the squares crocheted but I have decided to go ahead and tie in tails. Then after I got all the tails tied in two days ago I decided to just start sewing together. I have part of the poptart together, all of the yellow together and most of the red rainbow together. I can't sit there and sew too much together at the same time because it makes me neck hurt like the dickens. I will at least finish sewing the red part together today (02.28.12), but I will also try to get the orange done too and connect the two colors. I have messed up and put a yellow square in place of a black square because I honestly wasn't playing close close attention while sewing but I think it will give the blanket throw thing a little bit of character. I'm not worried about fixing it and I don't intend to.

.[Knitting (and crocheting) Resolutions!].

This year my resolutions for my needle crafts are:

1.) Finish that dang Nyan Cat Pixel Throw
2.) Knit a pair of socks (Any Size)
3.) Make the following people something before the year is out --Margaret, Leah, Meghan.

And perhaps,
4.) Make something for my husband.

The Nyan Cat Throw... About halfway done, and looking good now.. NOTHING is gunna get in the way (sorry, watch too much Nick with my daughter). That thing will get done this year even if it KILLS ME... Which it may! Hehe

The socks I am scared of, but oh how I would love to have some bitchin' socks to call my own!

On Facebook, Leah posted a post. I will copy and paste that post:
Pay it forward 2012... I promise to make something handmade for the first 5 people who comment. They must in turn post this and make something for the first 5 who comment on their status. **The rules are it has to be handmade by you, and they must receive it before 2012 ends; it can be something as simple as making a friend a cup of coffee. So who's in?

Only two people have commented on this fucking post.. Which is like.. PFF! Cuz I am offering up free handmade whatevers! I know there are some people out there that like my stuff and wouldn't mind having it! Leah didn't comment on it, but EH, I will make her something anyway... Hehehe.

I know I'm going to make Margaret some crocheted cloths. She has kids and has requested the cloths. I don't know what I am going to do for either Meghan or Leah... I was thinking of making Meghan an owl pillow because I have a pattern for one that I want to try.
It's kind of hard to think of something I can make for the people who live far away because it can't be perishable... POO!
